The Brooks-Range Adventure Racing UTM Reader™ is an essential tool for any serious adventure racer. It includes the five UTM map scales most commonly used in adventure races.

Cartographers designed and oversaw production of this unique tool to comply with USGS standards for accuracy – it is accurate within 1/50th of an inch – about the size of a period at the end of this sentence.

The Adventure Racing UTM Reader, measuring only 4.25" x 7" (108 x 108 mm) square, easily fits in a pocket, and its non-glare, flexible plastic material prevents broken corners or tearing in cold and severe conditions.

Presented as corner rulers for easiest use on almost any topo map, the five corner ruler scales (all /0.1km) are: 1:10,000, 1:15,000, 1:24,000, 1:25,000, and 1:30,000. Highlighted with red, each corner ruler allows you to plot a UTM coordinate within a 1km map grid with at least 10m precision. A Compass Rose, Inclinometer and Common Conversions are also included.
