Our Brooks-Range Snow Crystal Card provides a stable base and grids for examining snow crystals. It also doubles as an Inclinometer by using the attached string and weight. The Snow Crystal Card has laser etched textured 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm grids, inclinometer increments of 1 degree, crystal and snow pit "prompt legends" and centimeter and inch rulers.

During production, the high quality aluminum is partially textured and then anodized flat black for oxidation, contrast and for easy crystal identification. The metal has low thermal conductivity to minimize melting and preserve the crystals.

The 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm black background grids are laser etched provide excellent viewing of various snow crystal forms. Because each grid has a textured surface, crystals stay put and a degree of relief is achieved. The millimeter grids easily allow estimates of crystal size.

The Snow Crystal Card, a basic snow safety tool that will help in making an informed decision about the snowpack, is etched with information on snow crystal types. Sized at approximately 4.6" x 7", it will easily fit in your field book, pocket and the Brooks-Range Field Organizer. Inclinometer string and instructions included.
