Direct to you, no hassles

No Hassle Guarantee!!!

Providing quality products is our core purpose. We guarantee everything we make. If you are not satisfied with one of our products at the time you receive it, or if one of our products does not perform to your satisfaction, when used under normal wear and tear and with reasonable care, return it to Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Co. for a repair, replacement or refund. Damage due to wear and tear will be repaired at a reasonable charge.

We reserve the right to inspect your product before replacing it or refunding your money. California law requires that products accepted for review must be clean. Please clean your product before returning it to us. Our products, however, do not last forever. Normal outdoor activities, climbing, ski mountaineering, skiing, back country travel, and rescue work exposes our products to abrasion, fatigue, sunlight and overloading. Severe falls, stresses, overloading, exposure to excessive temperatures and sunlight, chemicals or improper use will shorten the life span of our products. These scenarios, while unusual, point to the importance of checking and protecting your equipment. Normal wear and tear, modifications, alternations, negligence, damage, and use for a purpose other than stated are not covered by our No Hassle Guarantee.

Our No Hassle Guarantee is for one year from purchase date and only to the original retail buyer (Buyer) of our products (Products). If a Buyer is not satisfied with one of our products, the buyer should deliver the Product to us at the address provided. We will repair, replace or refund the cost of such Product free of charge. That is the extent of our liability under our No Hassle Guarantee and upon the expiration of the applicable No Hassle Guarantee period, all such liability shall terminate.

No Hassle Guarantee Exclusions

Our No Hassle Guarantee does not apply against normal wear and tear, modifications, alternations, negligence, damage, improper use, improper maintenance, accident, misuse, and use for a purpose other than stated. Our No Hassle Guarantee gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state. Except as expressly stated in our No Hassle Guarantee, we shall not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental or other types of damage arising out of, or resulting from, the use of the Product. Our No Hassle Guarantee is in lieu of all other warranties and guarantees, expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties and guarantees of merchantability of fitness for a particular purpose (some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or allow limitations on the duration of an implied warranty, so the above exclusions may not apply to you.)

Ordering Information

If you have questions about ordering from Brooks-Range, please email them here.

Ordering by Mail:

Print out our Order Form or just write down what you need and enclose either a personal check (no rubber ones), a money order, or your Credit Card information for the full amount. CA residents must add 8.75% sales tax. Include a phone number in case we need to contact you about your order. Be sure to write very clearly. Print out our PDF version of the order form for best faxing results. NOTE: the PDF form does NOT have up-to-date shipping charges on the form.

On-Line / Phone Orders / Fax Orders / E-mail Orders:

You can on-line, call, fax, or e-mail your order 24 hours a day. Calling and leaving a message is far and away the worst method you could use. On-Line E-mail is the best method.

Payment Options:

You can pay for your Brooks-Range product purchases by Visa or Master Card Credit and Debit Card, personal check, money order or international money order. No cash payments please. Our address for sending us payment is:

Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Co.
4725 Thornton Avenue
Fremont, CA 94536-6408 USA
Phone: 510.797.7980 / Fax: 510.797.3214

If you send us a rubber check, you will be charged $50.00 and put on the deadbeat list for life. This means any further purchases you make at Brooks-Range will need to be prepaid and there will be a delay in shipping until we are sure we have your money. If you use a credit card or debit card for your purchase and it is declined, it will be treated like a bad check, and a $20.00 fine will be added to your total. Be fiscally responsible.....

Shipping & Returns

Satisfaction Guaranteed!

You, our customer, are our #1 priority. You can always count on friendly, knowledgeable customer service and fast shipping. We want to be sure all of your needs are met and all of your questions are answered. Your complete satisfaction is important to us. Without it, we couldn't stay in business. If something isn't right, simply return it and we'll do our best to make it right.

Shipping:

We prefer to ship by UPS or USPS if possible. We will need a street address for UPS deliveries and phone number. Alaska must go by Air. This can be pricey, so all bets are off with our standard shipping rates. We will try to find you a good rate via the U.S. Postal Service or other carrier. Rush shipping is available at an additional cost. E-mail us for pricing on 3Day Select, 2nd Day Air, Next Day Air and International Shipping. Delivery times are calculated from when the order leaves our warehouse, not when we receive your order.

Tracking your Order:

Tracking information is available by contacting us at info@brooks-range.com. We must have your order number from your order confirmation to facilitate this. Note that tracking info is not available for orders sent via the US Postal Service. If you specify postal delivery, Brooks-Range will not be responsible for lost or damaged packages.

International Orders:

Payment for your order can be sent directly to us by International Money Order or by Credit Card / Debit Card. E-mail or fax us for more information. If you are in Canada, plan on mysterious charges showing up when you get your package. Thank NAFTA. Some times you are charged, some times you are not. We have no idea how they figure charges and after talking to your Customs Agents it is apparent that they have no idea either. Best answer we got was "...nobody knows". This was after being on the phone for 3 days with Canadian officials and NAFTA bigwigs. The U.S. Postal Service seems to have the best rates and less hassles than UPS for deliveries to Canada. E-mail us for more info.

Because of increased internet fraud, we are requiring proof of card ownership for ALL NEW international orders. Before we process any NEW INTERNATIONAL ORDERS we must have a copy of the credit card statement with the name and address of the customer the order is being billed to on file. It must be either faxed to us at 001 510 797 3214 or mailed to us at:

Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Co.
4725 Thornton Avenue
Fremont, CA 94536-6408 USA

Orders will be shipped to the billing address only. We will not ship to a secondary address unless prior arrangements are made with us. We will ship via our choice of UPS Worldwide Express, Express Mail International or Priority Mail International. Shipping charges are determined by the overall weight of the package and insurance costs. Customs duties and/or import taxes are NOT included in your purchase price and are your responsibility upon receipt of your order. Orders will be shipped usually within 2 business days from receipt. You will be notified of any backorders or stockouts.

Will Call / Pick Up:

We don't not encourage or allow "on site pick up's". If you live two blocks away, and beg - maybe. Random mystery flybys are a no-no, so don't even ask unless your very life depends on it - and you have a note.

Back Orders:

Sometimes an item you order will be out of stock or backordered. If this happens, and we can not ship your entire order within a reasonable amount of time, we will notify you of the delay. To reduce the chance of any shipping delay of your order, include second color choices, other options, etc. If you have a deadline, let us know and we will our best to meet it. We know how it is to leave on a trip without a much needed piece of gear ...

Merchandise Returns:

You don't even have to call us if you have a problem with the merchandise you've received. If you are not completely satisfied with any item purchased from us, simply return said item in original condition for a replacement, exchange, or FULL refund. Just place the item in the original packaging, then place in a second box to prevent damage. Make sure to include your name, address, order number and daytime phone so that your return can be processed. Please insure your package in case it is lost or damaged. You may also wish to send it via a delivery service that can track its return. To assure speedy handling, please ship it directly to:

Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Co.
4725 Thornton Avenue
Fremont, CA 94536-6408 USA
Phone: 510.797.7980 / Fax: 510.797.3214

Shipping charges are non-refundable and the item you return should be in the condition you received it - with all boxes, warranty cards and documentation intact. If you have questions about our guarantee please feel free to email us at: info@brooks-range.com.

    Proper Care and Storage

Normal outdoor activities, climbing, ski mountaineering, skiing, back country travel, and rescue work are dirty. You must keep all of your equipment clean and well maintained. Treat our fabric products with the same exact care you would use with your climbing ropes. Store our products in a clean, dry environment, out of direct sunlight. Make sure to dry before storing. Keep our products away from heat sources and don’t allow them to contact corrosives such as battery acid and solvents. Never store our products in a folded or stowed position for long periods of time – this is especially important in warm, humid areas.

    Hygiene

Wash your Brooks-Range products with warm water and mild soap such as White King FlakesŪ. NO BLEACH. Drip dry out of direct sunlight until fully dry.

    Replacement and Retirement

Retire and replace your Brooks-Range product if the fabric, buckles, straps or any part of the product is damaged, frayed, cut, torn, bent, cracked burnt, melted, faded from exposure to ultraviolet light or the bar tacks of fabric products are showing wear.

No product or piece of gear lives forever. If you can’t have your Brooks-Range product repaired, retire it. Anytime you retire a piece of gear or product, destroy it to prevent future use.

    Adopting Equipment

Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Co. strongly discourages secondhand use. Because you should always know the history of your gear, buying used products or equipment is just plain risky. You can’t trust products, information therein, or equipment with an unknown or out-of-date past.
