As our customer, you are our #1 priority. We want you to count on us for friendly, knowledgeable customer service and fast shipping. Your complete satisfaction is important to us. Without it, we couldn't stay in business. If something isn't right, simply return it and we'll do our best to make it right.
If you are not satisfied with one of our products when you receive it, you may return it to us for replacement or a full refund. PLEASE NOTE: No returns, exchanges or refunds are offered on clearance items.
If a buyer is not satisfied with one of our products, the buyer should deliver the product to us at the address provided below. We will repair, replace or refund the cost of such product free of charge, except for shipping and handling. That is the extent of our liability under our No Hassle Guarantee and upon the expiration of the applicable No Hassle Guarantee period, all such liability shall terminate.
Our No Hassle Guarantee is from 30 days of the date of purchase and only to the original retail buyer of our products. The No Hassle Guarantee does not apply in the case of normal wear and tear, modifications, alterations, negligence, damage, improper use, improper maintenance, accident, misuse, and use for a purpose other than stated. Shipping and handling is excluded from our No Hassle Guarantee.
Of course, even Brooks-Range products don’t last forever. Normal outdoor activities -- such as climbing, ski mountaineering, skiing, backcountry travel, and rescue work -- expose our products to abrasion, fatigue, sunlight and overloading. Severe falls, stresses, overloading, exposure to excessive temperatures and sunlight, chemicals or improper use will also shorten the life span of our products. These scenarios, while unusual, highlight the importance of checking and protecting your equipment. Normal wear and tear, modifications, alterations, negligence, damage, and use for a purpose other than stated are not covered by our No Hassle Guarantee.
Our No Hassle Guarantee gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state. Except as expressly stated in our No Hassle Guarantee, we shall not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental or other types of damage arising out of, or resulting from, the use of our product. Our No Hassle Guarantee is in lieu of all other warranties and guarantees, expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties and guarantees of merchantability of fitness for a particular purpose (some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or allow limitations on the duration of an implied warranty, so the above exclusions may not apply to you.).
Any returned items must be in its original packaging with its tags attached and unused. Bedding, sleeping bags, quilts and other bedding products may not be returned, as they cannot be resold due to health considerations. Merchandised marked "sale," "as is," "no returns accepted," "all sales final," or with similar language may not be returned.

You can order online 24/7, 365 days a year. Though less convenient, you may also send your order in via fax (510-707-3214) or email (email@example.com). If you have a question about our products, email your question here or call us between 9 AM and 5 PM Pacific Standard Time (we are located near San Francisco). If you call after hours and leave a message, be sure to speak clearly when you provide your daytime phone number.
We accept Visa and MasterCard debit and credit cards plus PayPal. If you prefer to use American Express, you can set up a PayPal account and include that as one of the cards you have on file with them. We also accept traditional forms of payment such as a personal check, cashiers check, money order or an international money order. No cash payments please.

There are numerous ways to pay, but due to the proliferation of fraud, payment will not be considered fully paid until funds have been received by our bank. Most credit transactions are merely agreements to pay and order approval is only a confirmation of your ability to pay. Therefore, we will not ship anything ordered until the transfer of funds has been confirmed. This can occur the same day with Visa and MasterCard where the issuing bank and your billing address are located in the United States.
With all other forms of payment there will be at least a 24 hour delay before shipping while our bank waits for your bank to send the funds to us. Once payment has been confirmed, shipment of your order will commence the same business day. In general, orders from PayPal or foreign credit cards take 2-3 business days for approval.
If you manage to dupe the modern system of financial security and your check bounces or the transfer of funds is revoked and yet your order has been approved and shipped, you will be charged $50.00 and put on the deadbeat list for life. At that point future orders at Brooks-Range will only be honored with a cashiers check, although we might consider silver or gold coins (subject to certification of purity).
Sometimes an item you order will be out of stock or back ordered. If this happens, and we can not ship your entire order within a reasonable amount of time, we will notify you of the delay. To reduce the chance of any shipping delay of your order, include second color choices, other options, in the notes section of the checkout process. If you have a deadline, let us know and we will do our best to meet it. We know how it is to leave on a trip without a much needed piece of gear.
We ship via United Parcel Service or the United States Postal Service. If you require a tracking number to be able to know the delivery status of your order be sure to select UPS as the carrier. A physical street address and a phone number are required for UPS deliveries. Selecting 'Other Carriers' typically means the USPS will be the mode of transportation, but the generic title also means that we will endeavor on our end to find the lowest cost delivery method. If the actual cost turns out to be less than the estimated amount at the time you placed your order, the savings will be passed on to you and the final cost of your order will be reduced.
Delivery times are calculated from when the order leaves our warehouse (see Payment Terms - above), not when we receive your order.
When your order is shipped an email with racking information will automatically be sent to you. If you misplace this notice we can send it to you again, just just send an email requesting it to our orders department. Please provide as much relevant information as you can, such as your order number from your order confirmation to facilitate this, delivery address, you name and a daytime phone number.
Tracking info is not available for orders sent via the US Postal Service. If you specify postal delivery, Brooks-Range will not be responsible for lost or damaged packages.
Payment for your order can be sent directly to us by International Money Order or by Credit Card / Debit Card. E-mail or fax us for more information. If you are in Canada, we will do our best to ship via USPS, although some products may require tracking via UPS. If UPS is the carrier, you will be charged import duties thanks to the North American Free Trade Act (inverted use of the term "free").
Shipping charges are determined by the overall weight of the package and insurance costs. Customs duties and/or import taxes are NOT included in your purchase price and are your responsibility upon receipt of your order. Orders will be shipped the same day payment is confirmed. For domestic orders that is usually within 1 business day. For international orders or those paid for via PayPal, shipment usually occurs 2-4 business days after the order is received. You will be notified of any backorders or stockouts.
We don't not encourage or allow "on site pick up's". If you live two blocks away, and beg - maybe. Random mystery flybys are a no-no, so don't even ask unless your very life depends on it - and you have a note.
You don't even have to call us if you have a problem with the merchandise you've received. If you are not completely satisfied with any item purchased from us, simply return said item in its original packaging with its tags attached, unused, for a replacement, exchange for full refund, less shipping costs, within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.To return products:
1) Contact us to secure a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number and
2) Fill out a Return and Exchange Form, then
3) Send the completed form with the product in its original packaging with its tags attached, unused, then place this package in a second box to protect against damage.
Make sure to include your name, address, email and daytime phone so that your return can be processed and credited you. Please insure your package in case it is lost or damaged. In order to protect our customers, returns on most climbing gear will not be accepted unless directed by a Brooks-Range employee.
Mountaineering, climbing, skiing, ski mountaineering, rescue work, backcountry travel and other outdoor activities are inherently and exceptionally dangerous and may result in severe injuries and death. You are responsible for your own actions and decisions. Any individual using products, information therein, or equipment from Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Co. is responsible for evaluation of their use and for fully understanding their limitations prior to any application.
